Milton Keynes Hotels
Formally designated a “New Town” in 1967 and located about 45 miles (72 km) north-west of London, Milton Keynes was originally created to relieve housing congestion in the capital. It incorporates the existing towns of Bletchley, Wolverton and Stony Stratford along with another fifteen villages and farmland in between. Milton Keynes is principally known for its large shopping centre and National Bowl amphitheatre. It’s also the headquarters of the Open University.
Comprising two parts – thecentre:mk and Midsummer Place – Central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre was, for a while, the largest shopping centre in the UK. It’s 720 metres long and is unusual in that access to all shops is from the ground floor.
